It’s ALL about the BOOTS!!!

BOOT SEASON IS HERE AND I ALREADY HAVE MY TOP 3 PICKS OF THE SEASON!!! Don’t get me wrong… Y’all already know I love a sexy stiletto, but when it comes to boots and booties, well I’d rather be in some cute ass booties or thigh high boots in these cooler months ahead. I love styling boots of all kinds with casual ensembles or with fun flirty dresses. Boots can be so versatile and you can definitely dress them up or down.

My first top pick would be these beauties I found at Bloomingdales and they’re by Marc Fisher. The heel type is perfect and the color is so bold. I’m literally obsessed with these. The moment they came to mi casa, it was instant love at first sight! These booties come in red and black suede and are some of the comfiest shoes I have worn especially having a 3+ inch heel.

My second favorite are these awesome studded booties from Vestique, one of my favorite Charlotte boutiques because they are known for cute trendy items that don’t break the bank! Like not even kidding, some of the best pieces I’ve bought since I moved from NYC are hanging in my closet from this boutique and I’ve worn them multiple times and still look and feel like new. This was the first pair of shoes I have bought from the Vestique Blakeney location and can I just say, for under $50 bucks, well worth every damn penny! Black suede material and these badass silver studs adorn these super comfy trendy booties.

Last but definitely not least would be these sultry black thigh high boots from Ego Official, a UK brand I discovered awhile back and literally have fell in love with a lot of their footwear brand. These babies are super sexy and my favorite part is the white cap on the toe. I think every woman needs a statement thigh high boot in their wardrobe and these are a must have for sure. I love the super stretchy fabric and how they literally hug your legs without feeling restricted or uncomfortable. I can wear these over skinny jeans or under a sweater dress and styled with a leather jacket thrown over my shoulders.

Murica!!! When you’re planning details and outfits to celebrate the 4th of July, of course you go for the red, white, and blue. Last week I had a super fun filled photoshoot collabing with Preston, the designer and owner of Ellison James. What is Ellison James one would might ask…. The name itself comes from family and she always wanted to incorporate it somehow as a tribute. Ellison for her sweet mother and James from her adorable dad, and also to the grandparents that she never had the pleasure of meeting.

Preston, owner and designer of Ellison James

Ellison James is an awesome jewelry line that focuses on using suede and leather and fringe everythangggg! So about the designer, Preston was born and raised here in Charlotte where her journey began with her love of football and the Carolina Panthers. Not finding any cool game-day accessories, she started to create designs herself, as she is a huge believer in DIY methods. When compliments started rolling in and people wanted her designs, her vision came to life. Her style for the jewelry line is definitely a boho chic casual look that can be versatile and utilized in any wardrobe. She believes that “Any woman has the power to create her own future and design a life she loves through creativity.”

Ellison James represents “A certain boldness of the spirit and the vivacious nature of the daring young bohemians.” She wanted to focus on designing jewelry that would be conversation pieces, be trendy, and also represent “absolute fashion freedom.” She truly wants the person wearing her designs to feel as much joy as she had while creating it.

Our collaboration took place in Freedom Park where the humidity and rain were definitely a factor that day, ughhhh but on the bright side I got to work with Preston, owner of Ellison James, Megan the photographer, and the sunglasses are from the ladies at The ShoeBox (Quay Australia sunnies).

Roses are Red…Violets are Blue

ROSES ARE RED… VIOLETS ARE BLUE… Beautiful rose gardens… I’m lucky to have you! Last week was probably one of my favorite photoshoots with Megan, a wonderful photographer that photographs my fashion shoots. I am so lucky to have a beautiful rose garden in the same neighborhood I reside in. McGill Rose Garden is such a beautiful and breathtaking sanctuary to see nature and explore the grounds that houses such amazing flowers. I chose this specific location because I wanted to share with y’all the new dress I recently got and I cannot even imagine shooting somewhere else other than here. Embroidery and flowers are a huge trend for spring and summer and it’s one of the biggest trends of the season. And needless to say, what girl doesn’t love beautiful roses?!?! Especially when they are on a LBD from one of my favorite online retailers Boohoo.

For those of you who follow my blog and social media posts, y’all know I love me some black dresses. They are the best essentials to have in your wardrobe because any event that I have coming up, it’s always great to have a LBD on hand. Not even kidding I probably have around 50 black dresses. YIKES!!! Saying that out loud as I am typing that sounds extreme as fuck, but I have collected them over the years.

This particular dress is super chic but also doesn’t break the bank. You can get this dress for under $50!!! Its super stretchy, beautiful detail, and love anything off the shoulder and with a sexy slit. This dress has ALL of the above! Also, I styled this with my signature pop of red in my accessories with my favorite pair of heels from Zara. My black cat eye sunglasses are by Dita Eyewear and they are the Magnifique style and run around $350. They come in a few other colors as well. I always try and style my looks by playing off colors in my ensemble, so in the end you have a full cohesive look. Happy Friday loves!!!

Romper Obsessed!!!

Since I was a little fashionista back in the 80’s, my obsession with rompers started. And STILL till this day, I have a closet full of these damn things, as in their “own” section of my walk in closet. Rompers are pieces that are super versatile in your wardrobe. They can take you from day to night, throwing a leather jacket over it, throwing on some heels, changing a purse to a clutch, and BAMMMM!!! You have a whole new look.  This particular one I purchased recently from Vestique boutique in Blakeney. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. This boutique offers trendy clothing at affordable prices for the fashion forward woman. They have great denim, tops, dresses, accessories, shoes, etc! It’s a one stop shop! And I mean, this romper was ONLY $48 DOLLARS!!! Yes you read that right….. down below at the bottom, I’ve linked where you can buy this awesome staple to add to your wardrobe. Or you can visit the Vestique Boutique and purchase it there. Also, purchased here are my new favorite sunnies, as Rachel Zoe would say, and they are by a company called Diff Eyewear.

I styled this romper with a few different handbags. Top picture is with a Brian Atwood black and gold chain bag (purchased from Bloomingdales in NYC) and red Manolo Blahniks. I always try and throw in a pop of color somewhere in my outfit because if you know me, I wear all black…..A LOT!!! So red or hot pink always gives it a little punch that it needs.

Rompers come in various colors, lengths, sizes, styles. And one of my favorite styles is one shoulder. I think there is something super sexy about one shoulder dresses, rompers, sweaters, tops, etc. It’s fun and playful and leaves something to the imagination, without bearing too much. Like I always say, “Keep it classy, with a little sassy” And that’s always been my sense of style and I live by those words when I shop. Here in the bottom pic I chose to style this look with a snakeskin embossed textured black clutch from BCBG by Max Azria. And my black velvet choker I purchased from a cute boutique in Asheville, NC.

This photoshoot was so much fun and I had a blast shooting in Southend, CLT with this colorful mural as my background. Megan, the photographer is amazing and is so professional and spot on at what she does. Check out her website to see all of her work and it is amazing!!!

Here is where you can purchase my look: Click on the links I have posted and I have added some similar rompers I love!

My Favorite Fall Essentials

All black all day everyday!!! Yep, I love wearing all black and being a New Yorker for over 6 years, all black was basically my uniform. I wore all black to work as well as pretty much everyday with the exception of throwing in a pop of color in my shoes or handbag. Black has so many benefits: it’s hella slimming, timeless, and chic! Can’t go wrong with any of that in my opinion.

Black sweater:

Black ripped jeans:

Fringe Tote:

Prada Sunglasses:

Y’all when I tell you this black cold shoulder sweater is my favorite sweater of all time…..I ended up buying 2 more, LOL! Why?!?! Well… because if anything happens to this sweater I will have backup(s). This is such a major steal!!! Online it is $28!!! WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! Comes in two colors. But again, black is my fave! It’s super soft and not itchy at all. I wear it with no cami underneath too. It amazes me that I have been searching for over a year for the perfect black sweater and so glad I FINALLY found it! Boohoo website has great deals and pretty fast shipping even coming from the UK.

Speaking of MAJOR DEALS… my fringe tote is from Amazon… yeah you heard right!!! Years ago I was searching for this bag on Nordstrom website and couldn’t find it for the life of me. Then randomly I saw it on AMAZON.COM!!! It is less than $35 bucks and believe it or not, it’s not even leather. I cannot tell y’all how many compliments I get on this bag. It has compartments for all your pens, cell phone, keys, lip gloss, etc. I get stopped every time I carry this out asking where to purchase this tote from. And everyone’s reaction is the same. “YOU GOT IT FROM WHERE?”

And you cannot have a completed outfit until you have some super oversized sunnies. My sunglasses are Prada and were purchased from Saks Fifth Ave. Also, they are on sale too!!! I love the shape of these sunglasses and the all black shades are super chic.

Overall, even though we didn’t have a winter this season, these are some of my favorite Fall essentials that I purchased. They will be in my closet for years and I love how I can style them all differently according to my mood and what I want to wear that day. I linked my faves above if you want to shop my style!!! Thanks for reading y’all!!!
